I wouldn’t mind if Macron gets to be the next EU chief.

It can, and it has for several decades now. But it has to stop. Right now. Time to rearm and especially establish CREDIBLE nuclear deterrence. We need enough nuclear missiles to turn the cities of any country that tries something into a smoldering heap of radioactive glass.

Ty! We need to step up and stop being led by USA.

    4. Macron: “We need to step up”
Macron next week: “We definitely need to step up”
Macron next week +1: “We absolutely, definitely need to step up”
Macron next week +2: “Let’s hold a summit and declare that we undoubtedly, unquestionably need to step up”

I’ll believe it when I see it

He may not have been the man that France needed but he is the man that Europe needs.

France and French people. You want to be a great nation, la grande nation. Once again you have the opportunity to take your central spot in world history as the country that united Europe and gives Europe its own voice and autonomy back. For all his arrogance, for all his faults domestically – please, just for this, give him your strength.

Europe’s destiny has never depended on France as much as it is now in likely more than a hundred years.

A United Europe under French security tutelage will pay you back for your service tenfold.

This war is going on for 3 years. Trump won in November and we all knew that he would push for the end of the war ASAP and Europe sat on their ass for all this time to the point a freeze of US military aid cannot be replaced immediately by all European armies combined and we get this declarations of strength. Sorry to burst your bubble, but unfortunately the future of Ukraine (with all the consequences for Europe down the line) are indeed to be decided in DC, either we like it or not, and mostly because of indecision by our leaders.

I don’t see France as the leader of Europe, it is a strong country, but it seems like the United Kingdom is more suitable to be a leader.

I wasn’t expecting Macron to lead Europe. 2025 comes with surprises.

Why should it ever have been? This is virtue signaling.

Not only Europe but the whole world’s future. It is not Zelensky who is gambling with WW3 but Putin for breaking his promise since 2014 to not invade Ukraine.

Why in the FUCK is Europe still going to allow Trump to negotiate a peace deal? It makes no sense whatsoever. You all know Trump is either a full fledged Russian agent or a wannabe. He doesn’t try to hide his admiration of Putin or his disdain for all European democracies. You must know he will settle for the shittiest deal ever AND one that will have built in excuses for Putin to violate it. WAKE UP!!!!!

      But…it is.

And I’ll make a prediction right now – before Trump’s term is over, the EU will force Denmark to “offer” Greenland to the US.

What happens to Hungary if US leaves Europe and some European countries set up their own thing. Surely Hungary as it is won’t be invited?

Is anyone in Europe truly willing to risk their life for leaders like Macron or Ursula? If so, nothing is stopping you—go to Ukraine and do it. There’s no need to drag everyone into war with Russia just because some politicians and individuals want conflict.

P.S. If you’re downvoting me, at least have the courage to comment and declare that you’re willing to fight for leaders who rely on gimmicks.

    16. The recent US actions are not isolated instances. These populist and de-globalization trends have been felt globally, especially in Europe with Brexit and immigration backlash.

There is an assumption that Europe will become more unified as a result of the US’s actions. I don’t think that is a foregone conclusion. It’s not going to be easy; it will require a lot of political will to make it happen even if it is the right decision.

France really stepping up and showing leadership in these troubled times.

Europe needs to get back to being a stronghold with its own decision making power. Dependance on US brainwaving is hindering its ability to go forward.
