The glaring problem is that not enough Americans (be they the cheeto’s goons for politicians or their millions of enablers among the general voting population) give a ѕhіt.

Just like how 140 million ordinary Russians are long overdue in assuming collective responsibility for the mountains of skulls made up of **non**-Russian victims accrued since 1547, 330 million ordinary Americans are now on the hook to assume collective responsibility for failing over 40 million Ukrainians and their true allies in the rest of the civilized world.

These are different from assigning incontrovertible collective *guilt* along the lines that **few are guilty but all are responsible** when it comes to one nation’s transgressions on another.

All that’s happened instead is that the Russians’ medieval-grade depravity and genocidal chauvinism have been irrevocably **vindicated** as they’ve openly re-enacted the deeds of the GоІdеn Ноrdе’ѕ horsemen or the Wеhrmасht’ѕ troops on the Eastern Front under the cover of ~~nuclear weapons~~ ~~WW3~~ EsCaLaTiOn!

      Most disgraceful so far

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump gives Putin a public hand job the next time they meet.

*As vicious* as any betrayal we forced onto the Kurds.

*More idiotic* than anything we ever did in the Middle East. We have tossed aside our best democratic allies in Europe, to appease a fascist in Russia who still hates us.

Will any nation trust the USA again? Trump has blatantly broken promises made by a previously elected president. No principles, no morals = no trust

Not ‘one of’, it’s THE MOST. At this stage it’s purely treachery. Trump and his cadre are simply traitors against their allies, their own country and democracy.

A commenter made a good point on there.

“If Russia had succeeded in planting a mole at the top of the US government, would that person be doing anything different from what we see from trump on a daily basis? “

And this is why Canada should not trust the Americans on a trade deal.

Maybe the world should retaliate by not buying from the US. Don’t buy Boeing, Harley & Chrysler/Jeep.
There’s plenty of alternatives, Canada & Mexico are standing up, isolate America, no gain without pain.

Certainly, it is the most disgraceful foreign policy episode in my 35 year old life

In some respects, I think the US has the same problem as Russia in that a huge chunk of the population just doesn’t care about politics / what their country does as long as the government leaves them alone.

I’ve certainly heard from some Americans over the last few weeks, but it’s shocking how little protest and domestic condemnation there seems to have been.

I contrast that with my own country, the UK. Politics is not typically talked about much, but literally everyone I have spoken to has said how poorly Ukraine has been treated and wants to help. Even our own Trump wannabe, Farage, has had the sense to keep his mouth shut.

To those Americans fighting for what is right, good luck and keep at it.

Hmmm, I would posit that it is the most disgusting act of betrayal since the war of independence from the British.

In decades? Yeah, like a couple dozen decades. It’s just as bad or worse than any foreign policy “episode”, ever in US history.
