If you weren’t already 100% sure he’s a ruzzian asset, now you can. I’m already at 140% at this point.

    2. Putin wants to get rid of Zelensky and his lapdog is complying !

    3. Ev3rMorgan on

Trump was never going to allow his administration to have a productive relationship with Zelenskyy. Trump needs his payback for Zelenskyy refusing to fabricate evidence on the Biden family.

    4. MightyHydrar on

And there we go. Poroshenko is a disgusting slimeball, he would absolutely sell out half of Ukraine as long as he gets to be king of the rest.

    5. SlowFreddy on

Trump is doing everything possible to undermine Zelensky.

    6. Immediate-Aspect-601 on

Why negotiate with US if they have gone over to Russia? They officially supported Putin, they are enemies and there is nothing to talk about with them. Send them to hell.

    7. Beneficial_North1824 on

They are not Ukrainian opposition, they are russian puppets

    8. Sherlock_1337 on

Im almost thankful for Trump at this moment as european, short term sucks but finally we are getting our shit together and stop being an american colony. Finally we are standing together and are proud of us and our products.

    9. Its funny how Poroshenko is being presented as a traitor and Russian agent despite him being the main organizer of Maidan, and spearheading the whole neo-Nazi shitshow.

    10. skeletium on

That election interference. While Poroshenko has some percentage of voters, no one ever will elect Tymoshenko, she already sold once to russians. Also, orange con doesn’t understand that shit like this makes us furious and will help Zelenskyy win a second time.

    11. moriedhel on

It’s pretty clear both Trump and Putin hate Zelensky and will do everything to undermine him, remove him from power (Putin “denazification” goal) and ultimately probably assasinate him once he’s no longer important in politics and well guarded.

    12. Shawn_The_Sheep777 on

Whether they are in league with the Russians or not, they themselves are behaving like Russia

    13. YardOptimal9329 on

Ok so he is bribing these people to do what… hold elections? Sell out their country? Negotiate with Putin? Create social media around how Z is bad? Ukraine by and large loves him now more than ever. What actual reasonable result could come of this?

    14. Poroshenko?

The same Poroshenko that lost with 25% of the vote last election?

Sure representing the will of the people there Donald, why not invite Yanukovych back while you’re at it?

    15. No_Detail1448 on

Of course they want to create divisions in other countries and let whoever they like win…

    16. These opposition guys , although have no sympathies with Putin, feature very low in Ukrainian public opinion. Zelensky is still far and away the people’s choice.
But that doesn’t matter to Trump, he’s looking for someone who will dance to his tune, and Zelensky has already shown his hand (what hand Trump might ask, you have no cards) Anyway, he’s looking for brown nosers like Vance, Rubio.
If this becomes some key part of a negotiated peace agreement, then Zelensky will refuse unless some kind of election takes place (how that can be done right now would be almost impossible).
When ceasefire/peace is achieved, the only way to block Trump’s plans would be for the people and the army to take to the streets and protest.

    17. kwakaggwp on

Tymoshenko has been accused of money laundering through gas deals with russia back in days (and she became irrelevant since like 2016).

Poroshenko was put under sanctions recently and has a support of a loud and annoying minority.

This kind of moves only prove how BEHIND States are on their political intelligence and how unaware they are of Ukrainian internal politics bro.

But it made me giggle for sure 😅

    18. SaraAnnabelle on

This just shows how genuinely stupid Trump is. He thinks every single country in the world functions like America; he knows nothing about Ukraine or it’s politics. He’s just going to piss Ukrainians off even more. 🤡

    19. So, is their plan to push for a quick and dirty peace agreement, to force ukraine into elections and install a pro russian government?

    20. Ok_Hedgehog7137 on

Well now we know Putin’s plan. Remove Zelensky, install a pro Russian government and take the country the easy way. I hate this. All these old men need to fucking die

    21. InformationEvery8029 on

This is a scandal without surprise, as Trump has always been a master in stabbing others in their back for all his life with evey dirty and despicable means possible.

This further evidenced that what happened in the oval office last week is a carefully designed and staged incident. First humiliate Zelensky publicly to destroy his reputation and support, then launch this coup to replace him with someone willing to cooperate in surrender.

However the plan backfires, and Zelensky receives even greater support from the allies and Ukraine people.

The White House may need to explain whether this is true. If really true, persons involved in this plot including perhaps Vance need to apologise and even resign.

The whole world should condemn such a scheme, and demand the White House to restore military aid to Ukraine as soon as possible, instead of trying to force Ukraine to surrender by depriving the brave Ukraine soldiers what they need most, and let them bleed and suffer painfully under the cruel Putin’s attack.

    22. Fit-Courage-8170 on

The American right are bad actors. Can’t be trusted and their goal is the break up of Europe. They have manipulation tools at their disposal, and Europe really needs to consider how it treats social media companies here

    23. And realistically what would happen in an election? Zaluzhnyi wins and we’re at where we are now but more aggressive conacription?

    24. Really all of you here? There is no info except existence of such talks, yet you all proceeded with accusations. Hell, they might’ve ended with “Fuck you, Trump”.

Also article has one piece which is completely wrong or intentionally translated in a wrong way.

      >The Ukrainian Constitution does not permit [elections](https://kyivindependent.com/a-beginners-guide-to-elections-in-ukraine-also-suitable-for-us-presidents/) under martial law

Ukrainian Constitution indeed doesn’t permit elections but under “state of war”. However nor Constitution, nor law has definition of “state of war”. That part of our Constitution is archaic and was made back in 1917 year. State of war described in documents signed previously under Hague convention of 1907, which is no longer used by any country. Not having elections when there’s war makes complete sense though.

State of war means that Zelenskyy must’ve publicly declare war against Russia in order to have no elections and being able to Constitutionally limit people’s rights, like they are limited now.

What i want to say is that article has part which isn’t true and misleads people. It’s especially bad when such articles written in Ukrainian because “state of war” and “martial law” are “стан війни” and “військовий стан” – almost same words, just placed differently.

    25. RedBulik on

So we had North and South Vietnam, we have North and South Korea. Now we’ll have East and West Ukraine. Got it.

    26. son_of_wtf on

Zelensky is in more danger now than ever. Good luck Ukraine!

    27. Ulanyouknow on

Oh oh… This doesn’t sound good. Zelenski better start wearing a bulletproof vest.

    28. Leprecon on

A country declaring an emergency and ‘postponing’ elections is a thing that dictators love to do and plenty African warlord use this trick in their repertoire. Whenever a country declares an emergency to override regular democratic functioning, you should be sceptical.

But in terms of justification, I don’t think I have ever seen a better justification than “our country is being invaded by one of the largest militaries in the world and a significant chunk of our population is under foreign control and won’t be able to vote”.

To be honest, if Ukraine held an election now I would consider it a very stupid move. Dangerous even. How would campaigning even work when there is a chance of missile strikes on the government? How would people in occupied areas even vote?

    29. External_Reaction314 on

Trump is taking US superpower status and transfering it to Russia in a matter of weeks.

    30. toniyevych on

Here is some context from a person who lived in Ukraine for decades.

Yuliia Tymoshenko is not a political rival of Zelenskiy, she is supported by ~3-5% of voters and has a huge negative rating.

Petro Poroshenko is supported by 15-25% of voters, but currently he publicly supported Zelenskiy till the war ends. Poroshenko also has a pretty big negative rating.

The only real rival of Zelenskiy is a former general Valerii Zaluzhnyi, but he does not expressed any political ambitions. Later once the war will be over he may change his mind, but at the moment he will not participate in any elections.

At the same time, I won’t be surprised if the new US administration will try to negotiate with them. That’s because they know nothing about the political situation in Ukraine and even in the EU. So they do that dumb things.

    31. Penderbron on

Of course he is, he needs pro Kremlist so he can sell out Ukraine and leave it under Russia’s control, because he’s an egomaniacal idiot with Putin’s hand up his a$$.

    32. ShieldScorcher on

The one on the right is good. He will be even worse for putin.

The one on the left is bad, she will sell out. She’s done this before…

    33. drop-bear-rescue on

Jeez. While they are stabbing him in the back, they are trying to stab him in the front as well. How Trumputin!

    34. Vizpop17 on

Knife in the back, and shake down to the front, if mobsters were president, oh wait 🤔

    35. JaySticker on

Trumputin’s plans appear to be simultaneously Machiavellian and incompetent. Their echo chamber is so full of arrogant, self-aggrandising idiots that they don’t realise We cAn aLL HeaR yOu!

    36. Monkfich on

Fucking terrible. He is trying to clandestinely create a regime change. Trump n Putin, arm in arm, trying to destroy Ukraine.

    37. Fun_n_sound on

The whole point of ridiculing Zel in the oval office was maybe to appeal to the opposition. They will give Trump what he wants.

    38. Not supporting is one thing why are they trying to destroy Ukraine

    39. frankinho23 on

Imagine US wanting Churchill to resign or discussing with his opposition during WW2. This US regime is vile or just plain dumb, most probably both
