      Poland already had like a semi voluntary reservist system. I think it’s like 2 months to get the basics if you opt in. My cousin that turned 18 got a letter not too long ago for this

      What this article does not mention and what Tusk explained later, they lean towards (as he called it) the Swiss model – voluntary military training for all willing man and women, with benefits for participation.

      I wonder how this situation will shape European societies because I can see a monster in deep sleep that should not be awakened. Europe has its entire history written in blood on a scale that the rest of the world has not seen. Wars upon wars for generations. For many, many years, being at war was everyday life for the average European.

      Russia may be on track to start a fight with Europe, but I’m afraid that starting a fight and ending it are two different things.

      My question is: **Is there a genetic memory of aggression?**

      Us troops and many others are currently in Poland training. Have been for many many years, completely normal.

      Ah no, that’s anachronistic. Let’s outspend them rather, buy tons of cutting edge firepower and simply level every strategic target west of the Urals if they dare cross a border. The West won the Cold War by outspending Russia (yes I know that’s oversimplified), we can do it again and we won’t need a conscript-fueled blood pump like in east Ukraine if we have two Taurus for every one of their bunkers.

      Calling it now, if it is mandatory then this is his political suicide, similar to what total ban on abortion did to PiS.

      I think they either are testing the public reception or this is a populist move that will not get any substantial follow up.

      Make that for every man and woman in every EU country. Maybe a bit different..not a military training, but a catastrophe response training if shit hits the fan. Like 3 months or so. What to do, how to help, how to prepare etc. pp.

      Giving survival skills and how to fix shit. Including how to use weapons.

      And if you want, you can extend this voluntary to a military training with additional service time if you wish.

      Nobody wants war. But we should be prepared. Every man and woman. No matter the age.

      Wow, recent statements from Trudeau, Starmer, Macron, the french MP and now Tusk! Europeans have finally realized that there is no point in appeasing bullies like Putin and Trump. They are cowards and will increase the pressure if you show weakness. As soon as they are confronted, they just shit in their diapers and shut tf up. 

      Ask Erdogan, who shot down Putin’s fighter jet. What happened to him?
