Is there something irreplaceable coming from the US, in terms of alcohol?

Californian wine? Europe has its own.

Whiskey, there’s also enough European besides Jacky.

US beer is awful awful anyways.

I think this is GREAT!! I can’t wait to see the cost of Makers Mark and other faves come down in price!!!

I mean, is there any food or alcoholic drink that we import? Seems to me like the local variants are more diverse and better. I think only sweets, snacks and soda can be american.

As an American, i am also boycotting as many American products as I can.

As an American, please keep this up. Fight against fascism. 🇺🇸 🇪🇺

    6. I mean, its not like american whiskys can compete with european ones to begin with. So why buy them in the first place? 🙂

      My husband loves Burger King*.
We haven’t gone since the Betrayal.
I’m sorry because it’s a franchise, but it’s over. No coca cola, no pepsi, etc.

I’m not paying to destroy democracy and give power to techno feudal lords.

*I’ve been told it’s Canadian. Apparently though it was originally American now it’s owned mostly by a Brazilian and a Canadian corporation
       Globalization is weird.
We’ll have to drink water there, but my husband and son are going to be really happy about it.

The president in the United States does a lot of things without considering the repercussions. Fuck ‘em right? Nobody needs Jack Daniel’s

    9. Trump made me to review what Im buying and what’s the origin of those products. Clothes, drinks, fast food, many other things – I’m switching to EU brands instead.

Check how many similar threads / topic is now on r/europe.

Well, not liquor but: Coca-Cola would hurt a lot! Although everything is manufactured here, CC is still an American company that loves money.

    11. juanxmass on

I realized that I have always been boycotting American alcohol, cause they do not produce good ones

    12. harmlessdonkey on

Canadian liquor stores are state owned that’s how this was possible. Doing it in Europe would require a lot of stores to decide to forgo those sales and consumers to be pushing for it.

That’s weird, we will usually have at least 10x Scotch and Irish Whiskey compared to Bourbon and Tennessee Whisky

Maybe there are a few Jack Daniels and Woodfords in your typical shelf but that’s about it

I dont think we drink that much american alcohol in Sweden. And i think it is probably illegal for Systembolaget to not sell a certain countries alcohol without our politicians say so.

But i wont buy anymore american burbon

    15. condemned02 on

I doubt people in Europe drink American alcohol anyway. There is already so many amazing selections, superior beer and spirits and wine there.

      Not sure about Canada.

I love this! But, let’s be honest, Americans will not self reflect. We will be the bad guys, doing this because we are just unreliable c*nts. We have pampered the US for too many years, letting them believe they are a great nation. America is the spoiled brat we raised, and now we have to deal with it. Many mistakes have been made. Inside America but also Europe, for not already stepping the heck up in 2016.

But I am honest, at that point, screw America. They voted for this. They voted for this, even not voting or even voting Dems, who did nothing honest to prevent the Orange.

We have Ireland and Scotland, never understood people wo drink American mouthwash 🤷‍♂️😂

Can you please buy cognac or Armagnac , and help my local producers here in France. Thanks for your help .

    19. Infrared_Herring on

I wouldn’t knowingly buy anything American ever again.

    20. Spooknik on

Well Trump hasn’t put tarffis on us yet, so you shouldn’t play all your cards at once (imo). Boycotting American brands and buying European is the best move right now.

    21. CaspinLange on

Canada is selectively banning items that are from red states that support Maga and Trump.

They are nuanced enough in Canada to understand that the blue states voted for the opposite of tyranny and fascism and Russian ass kissing. So they are creating boycotts and tariffs that target the red states that voted for Trump.

And everyone in the blue states in America supports it fully, because Canadians are our brothers and sisters and closest ally.

    22. Overall-Yellow-2938 on

EU Alcohol is better and i think the canadian stuff i tasted a few years back was pretty great too.

So.. why bother with the US headache booze?

    23. yowieinmygarden on

Everyone will figure out just how crap the us stuff was anyway and wonder why they ever bought it in the first place
