In un recente post Péter Magyar ha dichiarato che “l’Ungheria rimarrà in Europa” e che incontrerà più leader europei per parlare prima della sua grande manifestazione.

      The man is named Peter ~~Hungary~~ Hungarian. The writers have clearly foreshadowed that nothing will keep him out of the prime ministers seat

      Also, sorry to all the Hungarians in my replies, but it’s a *joke*

      To fully qoute what he said:

      Heading to Paris, Strasbourg, Munich and Stuttgart. Negotiations with European leaders, as well as a meeting and a March 15 commemoration with Hungarian communities abroad.

      Hungary’s place is in Europe.

      “No, no, no, no, no, we’re not leaving here…

      If Viktor doesn’t like what we’re working for, let him take his house away from here, but we’ll stay here.”

      Hungary will remain in Europe either way. Unless somebody has way to transport whole country to different continent.

    4. Not interested in this outcome anymore. Hungary has to be expelled from eu.

      But doesn’t hungary just have “elections”. Where Orban gets as many votes as he wants to get.

      Are you really telling me a dude that wants to lead Magyars is called Magyar?

      I have a feeling that if orban looses he’s gonna pull a trump and do a insurrection that is “totally not an insurrection but a peaceful march to stop the steal!”

      As a hungarian in Canada, I hope he can pull it off. I have been disgusted how Orban has been on the world stage

      The options are:

      * being invaded by russia

      * kicking orban out

      * kicking hungary out

      So I really wonder what he wants to do here? I don’t think another bribe is acceptable.

      If Magyar wins, there is going to be a serious deorbanization of Hungary. This was not only a corrupt president, that was a guy that bent the entire apparatus for his convenience.

      Bringing it all to light, make appropriate changes to revert the situation, ban his cohort from positions of power, and finally, turn open secrets into arrest and convictions will be a huge effort.

      How can we, as Europeans, help Hungary kick out this Putin shit?

    13. Complex_Beautiful434 on

      Hungary should remain in Europe but that arsehole Orban and his Nazis should go to Russia soon as possible.

      His name is actually Magyar? Well, he seems trustworthy right away 🙌

      I hope it is highlighted that Orban wants to ally with their natural ennemy (Russia) or a country on the other side of the Atlantic, betting on Trump winning again for some reason. Also, Trump has no ally, only tools.

      Back when I was young and living in Canada I had a Hungarian girlfriend. Her parents would talk about leaving the country in 1956 with the absolute bare minimum, they were just teens. They met at Catholic church a few years after arriving but it turns out they were actually on the same flight out from Budapest. Her dad was pretty cool, he was winning the local club football scoring title every year into his 50s. I knew enough to make Puskás jokes and I think he really liked that.

      My GF’s mother had two sisters that also made it to Canada and they all lived in a row of condominiums. It was pretty cool. There were frequent family get togethers and I was spoiled with kindness and cooking — especially the baking, krémes and rétes, and then the customary shot of Unicum or pálinka after dinner. They said they had textbooks with alternate histories of WW2 that they had brought with them, which I found totally wild.

      Years later I end up moving to an EU country for work and I start discovering places.

      I was (and still) am fascinated with Budapest. The people and history. The stories of the student uprisings rippling across Eastern Europe (the courage of those people!). The Shoes on the Danube. I put my finger into the bullet holes in the concrete and imagined tanks on those streets. It was terrifying and today I immediately think of the people in Ukraine as the same evil invades their home.

      I have a tremendous appreciation for Magyars and for other Eastern Europeans that had to fight to be democratic.

      I know there are challenges with immigration and other issues related to overlapping worlds … but these things must be worked out and addressed without fascism. It’s not an either / or situation.

      Anyway, I started typing to just say I hope Péter Magyar is elected and I got a bit carried away with memories.

      Magyars got an excellent ground game going. He’s running a well oiled campaign designed to make inroads into the Fidesz strongholds.

      Excuse me? Is this dude named Jacques Francois/Kyle States/Hans Deutsch?

      Are Hungarians going to return home in masses if we have a new government? I for one would seriously consider moving back to my home country if we finally elected a progressive, non-corrupt government. I would feel quite hopeful about the future and would be proud to contribute to our economy instead of a foreign country.

      If hungarians aren’t MAGA level stupid, they should go vote for anyone beside Orban.

      Hungary’s EU membership needs to be reduced to a probationary status pending certain government changes in branch powers and guaranteeing basic freedoms.

      They can get a review in three years and then maybe be a full member again.

    22. Still like 2 years to go with Orban ? Unless something can be done before that ?

    23. barktwiggs on

      What’s going on in Hungary Oblast these days? Now would be a great time to do something since of all russia finances and military are tied up elsewhere.
