I wonder what the profit margins are for a supermarket now with all these price increases

When did it go down? Each week the same amount of money gets me less and less.

I noticed.

I do wonder if most of these increases are to force people onto clubcards

Check out http://www.quidu.ie and you can track the price history for all supermarket items to see what items have been impacted the most

What, electing the same old parties would lead the the same old stuff happening again, who would’ve guessed.

For crying out loud how the hell are we supposed to go on like this. It’s a struggle as it is every time going to buy food. I feel so sorry for the elderly and people with children.

I’m feeling the pinch so decided to eat asian food. Basically vegetables and meat with ginger, garlic and a sauce you buy or make it yourself.
Learned how to stir fry off You tube. Bought a 10kg bag of rice and dried noodles. A pack of chicken thighs can last me five days when added to other ingredients. One day I was broke and only had enough money to buy tomatoes and eggs. Managed to make a Chinese over rice dish and it lasted me three days.

Cost of living crisis? More like the transfer of wealth crisis.

It gives dunnes, supervalu and tesco with a 68.9% market share by my eyeball maths. Anyone else surprised that lidl/aldi have (possible less than) 31.1% market share?

Used to work in a supermarket bakery and I remember the list of price increases we’d get from our suppliers on the regular since Covid. 50%-60% price increases on certain ingredients. Don’t know how bakeries are managing right now tbh.
