Yes, no encirclement, but logistics have been cut off and were hammered for weeks leading up to this. Guess we’ll see what happens in the coming days.
I saw a map a couple days ago showing lots of Ukrainian forces pulling out of Kursk. It looked like a speedy well-organized withdrawal.
It’s becoming really obvious that there won’t be meaningful peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. So the leverage of the Kursk territory is probably a lot less important than it looked a month ago.
I’ve also heard credible rumors that the US is actually giving intelligence on Ukrainian possessions in Kursk to the Russians. That would make it much more costly to stay.
I’ve been saying for years that the way to end this war in Ukraine’s favor is for Russia to be destroyed. That still looks true to me. For the sake of the whole world, including whatever remains of the US after Krasnov gets done with it, I really hope Europe steps up and is willing to help crush Russia.
