      He served under Da Vinci Wolves, one of the most elite and hard hitting battalions in Ukraine, frequently conducting high risk missions on the front lines.

      When he talks about Russian soldiers being shot by their own for retreating, it made me think of the battle of Stalingrad, the opening scene in Enemy at the Gate, where the Russians are woefully unprepared, one gun given to one soldier and a handful of bullets to the other, and they had to stay together and share, and then their officers killed them when they tried to retreat in the face of the much better armed Germans. I was 15 when I first watched that and I remember thinking No way they’d have done that. Turns out, yep, they’re truly deplorable.

      Also important to note: Vance did not go to Ukraine because he did not want to go on a Propaganda tour. However who could have gotten a tour from a member of his own family and still didnt contact or visit..
