Despite coming from a family with a long history of military service, future combat medic Maria Danchyna always dreamed of pursuing a different path. A year before Russia’s full-scale invasion, she moved to Austria to pursue her dream education, but just one year later, she gave it all up to defend her homeland.

In this video, Maria shares her journey to mobilisation, how volunteering led her to the front lines, and her fight to secure one of the most dangerous positions on the front.
