the visas/permissions to move to Ireland should require a police clearance certificate from the countries the person has lived in.

I am lost why do not do that.

Did I read correctly that part of his defence was that it was opportunistic and not premeditated?! I actually don’t know what’s worse.

    3. “The judge said: “I cannot ignore the defendant’s appalling previous convictions.” He noted that Gladstone has no mitigating factors except that he is a foreign national serving time in an Irish prison.”

Why is this a mitigating factor? 🤔

more and more and more of the same.

Where are the statistics for sexual assaults in the last 5 years committed by non nationals as a comparison to Irish citizens?

What is the percentage of serious crimes committed by the foreign born vs Irish born people, why isn’t this available as an overall picture of real fact based optics?

As it seems like every day its another non national who is being charged.

‘’He then left the accommodation and, at 7.30am the following morning, bought a ferry ticket to the UK. However, he was unable to board the ferry as he was barred from entering the UK’’

Questions have to be asked why he was allowed into Ireland when he was barred from the UK
