      I really hope that the war will end as soon as possible, but not at the cost of losing any territory for Ukraine. They are just defending themselves and some people are able to say that they are to blame for the war, like what.

      Im getting flashbacks to the Hjalmar Schacht periode in Germany. One can only move money and debts around and try to fool the economy for a few years until that bites you in the ass.

      This is like the end of the Cold War. While we maybe can’t outright run them out of Ukraine, the economic pressure will, if we can keep it up.

      We can do this, and give Ukraine the means to, if not run them out, to at least inflict such casualitites on them that the war can’t be prolonged even if the US and Russia tries to go over Ukraine in this. Ukraine does not have to accept any terms.

      So, the question is, can we in (the not insane) west take it, and can Ukraine? The signs are already there, and they are increasing…Russia can’t keep up much longer.

      I know I can take it, and more.

      Putin’s answer will be to increase military spending. A country can’t sacrifice key sectors of the economy for long, WW1 lasted less than four years, WW2 went on for 5 but Russia had a serious help from the Allies. They have to maintain a giganormous nuclear arsenal, produce almost everything on their own, they rely on Iran for their drones ffs yet they can barely fend off Ukraine. It’s why the Russian scare is ridiculous, a few well prepared European countries would wipe the floor with them, they know it, we know it and this is why Europe needs to buff its armies. No need to overspend, we just need to be ready to work together and dismantle whatever menace Russia might throw at us
