Why is every post on r/Europe about the US?
Hey Western Europe, those boots on the ground yet? The Coalition of the Willing…….Willing to talk about it some more. 🤣🇺🇸
I dont agree with the way some stuff is worded, but the overall admittance should be clear after reading this: **the US is simply not capable to deliver even if one wanted**. That is the gist of it actually. So anyone even considering to buy now, would be a fool.
The heading is inaccurate. The U.S. is actively encouraging Europe to pony up for its own defense. It’s up the suits in Brussels to take it from here.
Would the US even be capable of defending any country in a conventional war? I know the US likes to brag about all their experience but all they have done in the last 40 years is dropping bombs on sandal-wearing people living in deserts and then leave when they lose interest. I‘ve read that it’s unclear if they would actually be able to defend Taiwan, never mind fighting an actual full-scale war against China. The USMIC is not built to fight and win wars. It’s built for enriching Military companies and PMCs through endless counterinsurgency and unconventional warfare. It’s basically the world‘s most expensive jobs program.

If the USA wants Europe to carry its own defence why not let us get on with it and support us for a period of time. That also means letting Europe take the lead in Ukraine peace negotiations as that is Europe as well. No need for boots on the ground or jets in the air as European countries can manage that. But don’t obstruct us either, support us as you say you will.
European defence contractors can scale up to step up. Key in my opinion will be to manufacture under license. There are non defence manufacturers with the capabilities to manufacture defence equipment and capacity in their factories to actually do it.
Meh, they will not do that. They have frequently interfered with our defense industry to ensure they can’t compete with the US’s.

– pressured Europe in making Galileo use so similar frequencies and tech that a) it’s not superior to GPS and b) can be easily spoofed by the USA.
They would be fools if they didn’t try to influence European leaders to buy high-tech gear there and only the more basic stuff from here.
It would help if Europe would stop standing behind Washington
I’m not sure the author understands what ‘self reliant’ means. Does Europe really need help from the US in order for it to be self reliant? Now, we didn’t invent the language or nothing but that’s a non-sequitur. Surely you jest.
Belgium should start to get rid of the swift currency exchange that it controls. Start trading in every country’s own currency. This is what the world needs. Why do we all need to trade in US dollars first then back to our own currency. Why is oil and all commodities have to be traded in US dollars. Europe should say fine get your troops out of Europe you have 6 months. We will defend ourselves. All nations that think the USA is their allies are in for a swift kick in the arse.
