A functioning democracy and economy needs both: collecting from where is there too much and giving it where it is needed in order to stimulate.

This is a good opportunity for Europe to revitalise the economy and society.

Well the suffering of millions of their own country wasn’t enough, but finally risk of war has forced them to accept we have nothing left to give and they have finally resorted to taxing the bloated mega rich companies and induviduals.
      GOOD!

    3. Peregrino_Ominoso on

I mean… It was about time to actually tax those mf parasites

    4. CommanderCooler on

That’s good to hear… it’s just unfortunate that so many countries required the threat of war to finally tax their GODDAMNED billionaires. Seriously, such an obscene amount of wealth and power in the hands of a few dorks can only end badly in the end. Just look at the broligarchs across the pond.

      >and Britain could be next

Nah, we are too busy removing benefits from disabled people who can’t work to even think about taxing the super rich

Telegraph needs to decide if they want to keep being agents of the enemy or just gtfo of Europe altogether.

Getting a little tired of Murdoch and his cronies arguing its actually “patriotic to let Russia take us all”

As a French : Macron taxing the rich in any format is as much realistic as Putin resigning tomorrow to allow a democratic transfer of power in Russia.

Insisting that the wealthy contribute to the security of the systems that are keeping them filthy stinkin’ rich is 100% reasonable.

    9. berejser on

Only fair that those of have benefitted the most from Europe being a safe-haven of stability contribute to keeping it that way.

Would the Telegraph get any readers if it wasn’t for Reddit?

    11. Other-Strawberry-449 on

God forbid we ask the super rich to fund the defense of the system that made them super rich.

    12. Janusz_Odkupiciel on

Radical tax and it’s 2% above 100 million.

Imagine getting 200 million and now you have to pay additional 2 million in tax and somehow this is radical to the point they are making money eyed Macron and doomsay capital migration to Dubai

    13. How the fuck is taxing the super rich the most radical solution? Isn’t it simply good sense?

    14. theSentry95 on

Let’s hope they do and it goes so well the rest of the world follows.

Let’s tackle the Russian oligarchs and their families and friends of their families in London first mate. How about that?

    16. ChoosenUserName4 on

Right, “radical” tax. I say, great, billionaires shouldn’t exist. They didn’t make all this money, they’re stealing it from the rest of us. Nobody is able to afford food, housing, and even kids, while they’re buying up everything. They’re like dragons on top of a mountain of gold.

Wealth inequality is the worst it has ever been. They’re using their power to destroy us. With AI they won’t even need us any more. Can’t wait to see what happens then.

    17. BoltersnRivets on

Nah, the UK would rather chuck disabled kids into a meat grinder and leave stream it to generate the money through donations on twitch than make the rich pay

make my cry, I wan’t to see weapons until I go full Grave of Fireflies

    19. Lushed-Lungfish-724 on

Well, I suppose a tax is better than what they did the last time…

    20. LurkertoDerper on

Those same rich people are going to probably just end up leaving Europe.
