Germany’s defense minister Boris Pistorius dismissed the call between U.S. President [Donald Trump](https://www.newsweek.com/topic/donald-trump) and Russian President [Vladimir Putin](https://www.newsweek.com/topic/vladimir-putin), calling it a “flop”.
Pistorius made the comments to German newspaper *Der Spiegel*. The Trump-Putin call took place on Tuesday.

I’ve literally learned about the result of those ceasfire negotiations yesterday as russian drones were intercepted in my area.
At the end of the conversation they both proudly said they were going to organize more ice hockey matches together… which shows their disregard for humanity.
Fiona Hill, presidential advisor foreign affairs, russia in particular, in trumps first administration, tells in the huffington post this past week, that trump is someone who totally does not prepare well for such an interview.
So what she noticed was that those translators don’t actually translate well what exactly putin is saying to Trump, because it turns out that putin often makes sarcastic jokes and ridicules trump but the translators don’t communicate that as such to trump so he sometimes doesn’t realize at all that he’s being fooled a little bit by putin.
For example, there was an example of trump once bragging about how crazy israelis are about him, and then putin supposedly said ‘why don’t you make sure they change the name of the country to your name’, that Israel changes the name of a the country. And of course that was just a joke, he was just making fun of him a little bit, and then Trump is silent for a moment and says ‘uhm that’s going a little bit far’. So it appeared Trump didn’t fully grasp that joke either.
In fact, fail is so big, I have issues finding the right words.
Trump is such a morron. He threw away all his “cards” even before negotiation began. Who negotiates like that lol?

Trump put unjustified and extreme pressure on Ukraine to agree to his ceasefire. Putin rejects the ceasefire, and not only are there no consequences or further sanctions as promised by Trump, but they instead agree to play hockey. A flop is an understatement. Absolute fucking sham.
But it is good to see Germany standing up.
I guess I genuinely don’t understand why Trump even cares at this point? If he’s so disinterested in the outcome of this conflict, why involve himself like this at all?
That’s a nice way to put it. Putin made Trump look even more of his bitch than usual.

So let’s get this straight. Putin didn’t agree to anything whatsoever and right after the call the US govt started suspending intelligence and cyber efforts to counter Russian sabotage.
Putin literally said “no ceasefire also stop defending against our misinformation and cyber attacks lol” and Trump just complied like a good bitch.
I can tell you, it’s a big fail. A wonderfull fail. In fact it’s the biggest fail ever made. You won’t belive me…
As we saw hours later, putin has other plans.
“We promise not to attack the energy systems we plan on taking soon.”
I cant imagine how humiliating it must be to be an American right now. He is literally getting laughed in the face by Putin, who kept him waiting for over an hour. Why on earth is a country that could defeat Russia in a day being so submissive?
How can there be negotiations between 2 people on the same side
Pistorius said “Nullnummer”, which should not necessarily be translated as “flop”. Resultless/Fruitless would be the more correct translation. It is one of the hundreds of words in the German language for parents to express disappointment with you.
I honestly do not expect anything to come from this, this won’t end any time soon, all the talk about the war (invasion) ending in “mere weeks” or “mere days” is complete BS,
This was doomed from the start. The war is still being determined on the battlefield so there is no way to reach an agreement. The interests of the two parties are simply too far apart.
And that is why no one but Trump was dumb enough to try and force peace talks. He sabotaged Ukraine, threw Nato under the bus and handed Putin a win and he has absolutely nothing to show for it.
He will claim that this was a great success and then when his failure becomes obvious he will try and blame someone else. My money is on Zelensky.
Pistorius is a straight talker, I really like him and I am happy that he will continue to be in charge of our rearmament.
Trump now has his excuse to stop Ukraine helps. Ukraine will Not Trust the russians. Playbook trump move.
Is this the “art of the deal”? 😂 Trump chasing his own tail for several weeks for nothing? After gaslighting vs victim blaming Zelenskyy that he could’ve had peace of only he’d asked for it to this diplomatic faux pas. Trump is a fork in a world of soup.
