That’s a peanut compared to Serbia tbh. We need to get more people on the streets cause the military and police belong to him.. He put his supporters in military and police so that they obey him

I wanted to share this in answer to some of the “why Turkey doesn’t do protests?” questions.

Although this seems small compared to what should’ve been, you have to understand these people have been heavily opressed for the last dacade and they’ve only had hopes on ballot box for change. Our democracy isn’t functioning and small things like doing a simple protest might get used by Erdogan as fuel. It is that kind of a mess.

It might not be big, but majority of Turkish people isn’t apathetic to what’s happening.

Good on the students and everyone there. That police line didn’t last long against them.

I got excited when Turkiye announced they’d like to join the EU but after this there shouldn’t even be a discussion. Strategic partners at best.

**Atatürk’s Oration to the Turkish Youth**

**THE SACRED GIFT I ENTRUST TO THE TURKISH YOUTH**

      Turkish Youth!

Your first duty is forever to preserve and to defend the turkish Independence and the Turkish Republic.

This is the very foundation of your existence and your future. This foundation is your most precious treasure. In the future, too, there may be malevolent people at home and abroad who will wish to deprive you of this treasure. If some day you are compelled to defend your independence and your republic, you must not tarry to weigh the possibilities and circumstances of the situation before taking up your duty. These possibilities and circumstances may turn out to be extremely unfavourable. The enemies conspiring against your independence and your republic, may have behind them a victory unprecedented in the annals of the world. It may be that, by violence and ruse, all the fortresses of your beloved fatherland may be captured, all its shipyards occupied, all its armies dispersed and every part of the country invaded. And sadder and graver than all these circumstances, those who hold power within the country may be in error, misguided and may even be traitors. Furthermore, they may indentify their personal interests with the political designs of the invaders. The country may be impoverished, ruined and exhausted.

      Youth of turkey’s future,

Even in such circumstances it is your duty to save the Turkish Independence and Republic.

You will find the strength you need in your noble blood.

You can’t stop the people. The establishments and money have become so comfortable over the last few decades that they seem to have forgotten that.

People cannot be infinitely gouged and oppressed. Eventually they will push back.

Pay attention America, this is what you will have to do if you keep letting them harm you.

Meanwhile, Dutch toilet paper De Telegraaf reported this morning ‘Istanbul mayor arrested in corruption probe: Dozens of riot police at his home’

All you need to know about this paper, which was banned for a while after WWII for collaborating with the Nazis. It should have been banned permanently.

I know this is a great reaction to unfair decisions which Erdogan makes since become a president but seriously guys, in other way Erdoğan will be using this kind of protest against the early election or in 2028 elections he’s so filthy and having a disgusting dictatorship since 2002. And what Turkey stuation and What Turkey ıssues there? Everything almost collapse in Turkey. As a anti-erdoganist I’m saying this
And I don’t see any opportunities to get down the erdogan and hope loose elections. Erdogan runs the country with his %51 percent sheep people and they’re definetely thinking he’s a world leader and belive to strong Turkey still we have.
