Gli studenti in Turchia si nascondono dietro un contenitore della spazzatura della polizia che li spruzza con acqua gelida e spray al pepe. La polizia sta diventando più violenta man mano che le proteste crescono ogni giorno, con gli studenti universitari che ora hanno deciso di boicottare le lezioni e “Freeze Life” lunedì in poi.

I’m not sure why there’s been so little coverage about these protests but I was there last night and it felt like… revolution? Turkish people are fighting back for the first time in 12 years and it’s not going to stop. I expect millions in the streets this weekend. This is all thanks to the brave university students from the established top schools in the country who held the initial protests but did not back down to the police. Seeing those students in ODTU mercilessly pepper sprayed and mistreated by the police on the 19th just to come back the next day even bigger in size sparked something in the people. Now older people, who seemed to have given up are joining the fight. I’m proud of my people for the first time in a looooong time.
At what point will there be a military coup to remove the PM? When there is no sugar in the shelves?
It never mazes ceases to amaze me how democracy is so great in every country until you oppose something that is undemocratic 🤣🤣🤣
Heartbreaking and brave. These students, risking everything to stand against escalating police violence, embody the raw courage it takes to demand change in the face of oppression.
