The reality is that if this was someone with no GAA connections the sentencing would have been alot harsh. One rule for ye, one rule for me
If he had beaten a woman would he be in prison? I don’t think anyone who has attacked someone should be eligible for community service. Why didn’t the DPP appeal his sentence in the first place?
What’s the point saying stay out of trouble or your prison stay will.be activated if when someone doesn’t stay out of trouble you do nothing.
There is no penalty for crime in Ireland.
The problem with Burns interference was always going to be the inconsistency when someone less disposal came along, or when someone commits violent crimes not as sensitive to sponsors or the current climate.
