Istanbul just reminded everyone what real democracy looks like, and it’s absolutely breathtaking.

I read somewhere someone say it looks bigger than the 2013 Gezi protests, which almost (that was insanely close) got Erdogan out.

And it does feel gargantuan there. This is the pride of Turkey right there. No matter how it ends, people will remember this gathering. Keep it up guys.

Btw, just asking from an outsider perspective: the Erdogan move to imprison his main opponent really feels like a panic, uncontrolled, stupid move. He’s already falling in the polls:

      [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Turkish_parliamentary_election#Opinion_polls](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Turkish_parliamentary_election#Opinion_polls)

He knew such a move would make things worst for him. This isn’t just a small far left opposition party he’s barring there. There is no other path after that for him than full hardcore dictatorship.

So… do you guys think he planned all this? Or is he truly in panic idiot mode of pushing all the buttons with the palm of his hand?

Those are good numbers. I wonder what they’ll look like a week from now, or a month, or half a year. This has to be for the long haul.
