RTE is a scam for nepo babies with no talent to make it in other walks of life.

We were hearing for years that Tubridy would be snapped up by the BBC if we stopped giving him half a million a year. He left, got a gig with a radio station in Norfolk and was cancelled after 5 weeks.

      It’s all just a scam.

Yes, this doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. What a fucking rag article from the Indo

They also buy clothes for photo shoots, use them and return for a refund in bulk within 14 days. It’s a pain in the hole getting stuck dealing with them. See it every few weeks. They’ll send in the same people to buy, then a different few return them. I’ve suggested either barring them or before purchasing that once they’re bought they can’t refund any more due to the amount of times they do it. Or even adding tags visible clarifying if removed there’s no refund. Its done for online orders and can’t see why it couldn’t be done for these

They’ll leave labels attached to make sure they can’t be denied a refund.

    4. Id love a new pair of cowboy boots.

Have to go to Mexico to get the best ones. Haven’t been down there in nearly 20 years.

Hey RTE got any boots going cheap? Mens size 12.

    5. There are at least 17 active presenters alone, this cost likely covers everyone on the front side of the camera. It’s another RTE big number, “must be bad” click bait article. RTE is no saint, and has well documented budget management issues but this article is simply lazy journalism.

Well yeah of course they pay for clothes, who wants to see the news presenters naked? (Rhetorical question, don’t answer! 😃)

Big fucking deal. They are a large media organisation. They are going to spend money on this sort of stuff.
If you’re upset about government waste then look to the HSE and look at big government procurements from the private sector.

    9. Meanwhile I am forced to pay them €160 a year for nothing while spending less than that on clothes for myself every year.

Only 250,000 a year? While running a national television service? Very frugal. RTE is to congratulated on keeping the budget so low. Well done RTE.
