      Hi,

With the Deutschlandticket you can take the RE1/RE1 till Luxemburg without a extra ticket.

    2. No, DB Fernverkehr is not the same as DB Regio, hence the different names.

From what I know, transport in Lux is completely free, even for tourists. That would mean that your ticket is valid.

If someone has other information, pls do chime in.

Any regional train or public transport in Germany.

Once you get to Inter City trains and international, you have to buy the relevant ticket on top. This means the missing segment from the last German station if a non IC or ICE crosses a border.

I should have added the following information (I can’t edit the text of the main post)

When I look at my journey on the DB app (full journey from Duisburg HBF, but final connection is the above train mentioned in the post), I get a warning message saying “connection is not included in the Deutschland ticket”, this is what promoted me to make the post. I have not been able to find any information about DB Regio AG Mitte, or buying an extra ticket to Luxembourg so I am asking locals to see if I have gotten something wrong.

As long its a regio you can drive with the D-Ticket up to the last station in germany and then buy a ticket

Here a good overview on the validity of the D-Ticket (note, it not tied to DB only) and across the borders (there are some places it is valid outside of Germany for some lines/until some stops).

Note that there are a few DB Fernverkehr trains included in the D-Ticket (the wiki should have them too).

If you search with local trains only on the DB app, then it will only show trains the ticket is valid (if within Germany) even if it is one of the IC/RE hybrids.

On nearly all Apps you have the option “Use Deutschland-Ticket only”.

Use it. And the app will show you only connections that are usable with the D-Ticket.

      It’s very easy, try it.
