That entire process is a disgrace. CC should offer her resignation

An attack on opposition time which is an attack on democracy, but sadly quite normal for this government, who seem to resent the idea of any opposition to their antics. Disgusting.

It was never not going to pass. Was there ever a suggestion of extending everyone’s speaking rights? Opposition keeps their time and the new super duper senior infants ministers can have some time too.

94 votes to 74. I am sure that all parties will now respect the majority decision of the Dail.

Very sad day for Irish democracy. But, we get the parties we deserve

Good. Now get on with government. Build houses, roads and hospitals. In that order

Ideally, opposition parties will just talk over theses totally not government TDs in slick moustache disguise any time there is a fucking attempt.
This is a genuine attack on the nature of our representative democracy, and you can even see that the government are half ashamed of themselves, but not half enough.
Regardless of who you vote for, you have to see that this is pure bollocks.
Seriously, have the opposition make this unworkable. Absolutely abhorrent policy.

Shame on anyone who voted for FFG. Dark day for democracy in Ireland. Worrying considering the state global politics is going.

A vote like this should be a 70% majority same with pay rises.

Im not seeing how this proposal will affect democracy, is it saying that independents are now considered members of a seperate party??

Who gives a fuck? The government should not in a million years have pushed this, when there are so many other issues at play in this country. And Sinn Fein should have shut up and moved on a month ago. In 100 days the new dáil has done NOTHING, nothing at all. Why are both sides wasting so much political capital, and political time on bullshit like this? I’ve never seen them debate infrastructure this fiercely, I’ve never seen them debate housing this fiercely. I have no words, the goverment and opposition are somehow equally incompetent

Disaster.
Verona needs to go firstly but for a government and opposition to be at such stalemate over Lowry of all people is ridiculous. Yet, Lowry gets what Lowry wants in the long term.
The arrogance from the government, especially Mary Butler, Micheal Martin, and the CC is breathtaking.
