10k gets you a suspended sentence. He should have been sent packing back to his homeland with no right to return.

Is there something we don’t understand about what it takes to deport someone? Is there just not a body that can come get someone and fuck them out of the country in these situations? The crimes he admitted to plus his visa being up should surely be enough

Good grief the whining of this man.  He’s had years to sort out his cultural induced misogyny habits, but instead he’s weeping for sympathy. Deport him and give his job to his wife.

Where’s the deterrent? It’s becoming very clear that you are not safe anywhere in Ireland, that pathetic sentence is an insult to victims.

Dismissed from his job in 2022 and hasn’t worked since. Expired visa, convicted sex offender. Lovely. Why is he still here?

Should have been sent the fuck back where he came from.

      Scumbag.

Asshole, what a joke the courts are. He should be fucked out of the country or put in prison –

Do we need a bigger jail or something?

Why is everyone and their mother getting a slapped on the wrist instead of being actually penalised for this crimes?

Wow, some lad threatens Mary Lou and Drew Harris on the internet and get 3.5 years. Admittedly they were death threats, but c’mon. This guy is a sex offender abusing vulnerable people. I’ll pay for his fkn his one way ticket

    13. thalassa27 on

He sexually assaulted a minor, a child. And a sick vulnerable woman in hospital. He has no visa. Why should he get to remain in the country?? And not serve a day in prison. What about the safety of women and children? Doesn’t that matter? I can’t believe his wife stood by him and accompanied him to court. Disgusting people. He abused a minor!

Deport and set a precedent, so no other immigrant dares to think of this. And I’m speaking as an immigrant of Indian origin. Not a single penny of the state should be spent on this predator, not even jail here.

He’s a sexual predator, and if he isn’t a citizen, he should be fast tracked for a deportation.

If Conor Mcgregor was president do you think this would still happen?

Reform the justice system ffs. This ain’t justice.

Immigrants from outside the EU have a different law applied to them. Irish and EU citizens are lesser people in the face of the law.

“Eldhose Yohannan (39), originally from India…

Yohannan, **whose visa has expired**, paid €10,500 compensation to the victims.”

I assume the fact that his visa expired means that he’s going to be deported back to India.

    20. EmerickMage on

On a different note how is it that so many Indian nationals are coming to Ireland and why is it allowed.

Ireland joined the EU so theirs plenty of European citizens that could be inticed to take a job here.

Just seems like rampant wage suppression through abuse of the immigration system.

I’m guess it’s that they come here to study and get a student working visa and somehow get on a track to permanent residency/citizenship. Canada’s student visa route was heavily taken advantage of by East Indians. Looks like the same thing is happening in Ireland.
