      Barrett’s leader of the National Party in name only now, he was couped by James Reynolds (who I think has basically quit after calling the NP a toxic brand) and Patrick Quinlan, the latter of whom is their de-facto leader at the moment because not even they could stand Barrett being such a Nazi wannabe.

      Or more likely they maybe agree with Barrett secretly but realise that while there’s maybe room for a right-wing republican party given SF’s troubles with their base on immigration, there’s none for an openly Neo-Nazi party.

      Stuff like this used to be immediately spotted as satire. Time went on, and I would at least still have a split second of “is it satire?” Now I just see anything like this and my heart sinks. The thought doesn’t even cross my mind anymore about it being fake or not.
