Russia will break the truce the first chance it gets that benefits them. If I were Ukraine, I would keep building more water drones and improving the tech because in a week, Russia will be breaking the treaty, and the gloves will be off again. Any truce that russia agrees to at this point is laughable. Putin’s word is worthless and he’ll break any treaty at the first opportunity if there is something to gain. Ukraine should just assume russia will break treaties.

In fact once Ukraine is able to come up with European replacements for american equipment, they should treat the treaties with russia exactly the same. As soon as it’s beneficial to Ukraine to break the treaty and kick russia in the nuts, they should.

Putin will violate the ceasefire within days. He always does.

The plan is based on lifting of sanctions first and that needs the Europeans to lift sanctions on Russian Banks using the SWIFT system and lowering the cost of ship insurance. The EU and UK have already stated the sanctions stay in place so its back to the drawing board for the Donald.

The US is starting to realise the limits of its power and its been quite a lesson for them

This is a bigger play for Ukraine to try to keep the US on there side. Honestly I think Ukraine has intel that russia is just delaying and is not planning on really implementing any type of ceasfire, so Ukraine is just agreeing with the US to make it clear that russia is the one that dosent want peace. The hope is that the trump admin will lose patience with russia and come to the realization that they are just not interested in peace. Honestly there are signals that it is already working. Trump has softened his language about NATO and rhetoric against Ukraine has toned way down. Hopefully there is a bigger shift once it becomes clear that russia has no intention of making a deal

I think Ukraine may be agreeing to this because they know russia will break another trump truce. It’s possibly the only way to get trump to turn against russia. Trump will eventually get tired of being embarrased by putin and decide to get on Ukrain’s side.

Trump truly is a gift that keeps on giving. Too bad it’s shit for allies and actual gifts for Russia.

Yes! Let’s lower sanctions of the invader so it can start financing the invasion with that money.
It’s a great idea! Let them export cereals and fertilizers! That’s an awesome idea… For putin!
Let them struggle. Their economy is functioning with hope and duct tape! If it wasn’t the return to the gold standard of the ruble, they already be at north Korean levels, but it’s getting there nonetheless. Just give time. And another mobilization is coming soon… That will start some uprising in the future.
Some still believe on the propaganda but empty wallets and stomachs will do the job

“It is unsurprising that the Americans have agreed to most, if not all, of Russia’s demands” because “the U.S. wants almost any deal,” according to James Nixey, head of the Russia-Eurasia program at Chatham House. When Trump was negotiating with the Taliban, they refused to make any concessions beyond promising to stop attacking U.S. troops while they left. Not even a ceasefire with the Afghan government. Trump got tired of waiting, agreed to the withdrawal deal, and pretended it was a peace deal.
