Donald really shouldn’t have called the Europeans freeloaders and pathetic this is an incredibly European way of saying a gigantic fuck you to him. I wonder if he still thinks he holds all the cards.
I read an article earlier today where a western corresponder had visited Russia. They talked with your average Russians.
The story was mostly as ever. You can’t really see the war in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Secretly, in the safety of their homes, Russians condemn ‘the ongoing incident’.
However, this time around, they said something that I felt showed their true colours.

Made my blood boil if I am honest. You feel so wronged for not being able to buy an iPhone? You can’t bear that minuscule burden? The tax you pay funds Ukrainian death. In the shadows of your home, you say it’s wrong. But not being able to buy an iPhone, not getting to eat an authentic Big Mac—that goes too far?
It’s ridiculous. The west has been meticulous in the way the sanctions have been implemented in order to limit their impact on the lives of average citizens. I’m glad our leaders have such deep wells of empathy. I’m not proud to admit that mine has dried up some time ago.
