Tracing its origins back to 1943, the 72nd Mechanized Brigade ([72.ombr](https://www.instagram.com/72.ombr/?hl=en)) has been pivotal in battles throughout the Russian invasion. It played a vital role in repelling Russia’s 2014 assault on Mariupol and defending Ukraine’s east. During the full-scale invasion, the brigade solidified its reputation by helping defend Kyiv in the war’s early days. Since then, it has remained at the forefront of Ukraine’s defense, holding the line against Russian forces in the east.
