Partial eclipse: “It’s set to start at around 10am, and up to 57% of the sun’s width will be covered by the moon at 11. The whole process will be over by noon.”

RTE news just said the partial eclipse was expected rather than happening.

You will not notice any difference in light. Its only a partial eclipse.

And of course it’s cloudy as usual so we won’t be able to see the eclipse…

I don’t think it’ll be noticeable. Last eclipse I saw I don’t think the brightness changed that much until very close to totality. The temperature drop for sure is mostly perceived at totality.

Idk how a cloudy day would interact with it though…maybe because it’s already dim we won’t notice if it gets dimmer or maybe it’ll be even darker.

Partial eclipse of me balls, boy. We’d have to have sun to notice half of it missing. I’ll postpone the sacrifices just this once though.

Well that would be my solar generation fucked for the day.

      If the sun was out.

Except it won’t get dark. This is a partial eclipse, so the light on the ground will just be a bit dimmer than usual. Unless you’re really paying attention you might not notice it at all.

It won’t be getting dark, even at near full total eclipse it doesn’t get dark until almost all of the sun is covered.

Well, that explains why my croissant-baking plans suddenly feel a bit dramatic. Guess I’ll just embrace the temporary darkness and pretend I’m in a very intense French film noir… starring a slightly confused baker. 🥐🌑🇫🇷🎬😅
