      That’s totally business as usual in Europe, our union is based on petty haggling.

      And most of the time it works fine, but that’s why Europe was so slow to realise that Orbán is not haggling but sabotaging or that Trump is not playing negotiating tactics, he doesn’t actually want a deal with us.

      This is a poorly written article in my opinion. He is implying that larger defense spending means a huge European economic boon without demonstrating that connection with adequate evidence or addressing why Europe hasn’t done so already if it was such a benefit to Europe’s economy. He is ignoring tradeoffs of where that money could be used as a stimulus elsewhere.

       I do think it’s true that defense spending with help unshackle Germany’s conservative deficit spending to spur economic growth and help fill Germany’s declining manufacturing base, but there wasn’t a lot of depth provided to the readers in this piece.
