This is an affront on Ukraine’s sovereignty. It’s not up to the Kremlin, and voting in another leader is impossible. It’s impossible legally, given martial law, and also logistically, given that so many towns are occupied.
This is tactic. Ukraine would have to recognize Putin’s wishes for Zelenskiy to step down and acknowledge lost regions that cannot vote.

The US has made the situation far worse and less safe for Ukraine…at the expense of Ukraine…every time i read an update about this war i feel like ww3 is getting closer and closer …i feel that the UK are rapidly being left behind by eastern block of the new Japan Korea and China free trade deal agreement ..US is just a whole issue on their own …and the EU who for some reason still want to punish the UK over fucking fish !!! Ww3 is literally around the corner and Europe is still squabbling..without a trade block ..or defence treaty alliance..one that isn’t connected to the US ..we are just fish in barrel

They have no interest in peace in Ukraine and are not operating in good faith. Their goal is to subjugate Ukraine and brutally steamroll across smaller neighbouring nations for a glorified return to the days of a greater imperialistic Russia with vassal states and a larger sphere of interest.
Ukraine stands firm against this 19th-century might-is-right ethos. And Europe needs to continue arming and providing intelligence to these defenders of Europe’s democratic values.
Democracy is something you fight to get, and fight to keep.

So much political dancing around a simple truth: Putin wants to continue the war and since he is the aggressor, the defender will naturally also continue to fight. End of the story. There is no miracle “deal” to be had where Putin withdraws without Ukraine selling it’s sovereignty and future. The faster Europe puts troops in Ukraine, the faster Putin will be open for actual peace, because only when his opportunities have diminished and the outlook is hopeless for Russia, will Putin consider peace. Appeasing dictators doesn’t work!
