Yeah, huge hit and miss. Longest delay for me was about 3 months too. Shortest is 1 week.

    2. Yes, that’s a fairly normal timeline for them to process and issue the fine.

      They can and they do.

Don’t worry, they will not forget about money that is already their own 😉

It’s just a second way to pay taxes …

Nothing to do with it. try to not pay first and wait if they send you a reminder notice means you’ll have to pay it, otherwise there’s nothing you can do:

Maybe to file an objection and ask them when was the measuring system calibrated. This helped me couple of times and I didn’t pay as the device was not well maintained 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Before everything went digital, 3 months where the norm.
It should not take them that long but they have 1 or 2 years time to send you this.

Ofc they can. The statute of limitations for Übertretungen is 3 years, so they could technically still come for you in 2027.

Yes. Mine was more than a year.
It was my mistake. I forgot to change my address when I moved apartments.
I remembered more than a year later and did the change since I was expecting a ticket when I got flashed 2 months earlier. Then they sent 2 tickets. The other one I didn’t know about. No penalties though.

They can’t bill you before it happens. So yes, they can bill you after it happens….

3-4 months sound about right, bit on the longer end

But yeah, statute of limitations is 3 years so I suggest you pay… It’s only 40 chf with some tolerance applied so more like 6km/h over… Definitely too fast
