Can RTÉ do comedy that isn’t a co production? What panel shows could they do?

Going by who’s been helming comedy in there the last two decades, this is an amazing opportunity for someone with a strong background in current affairs or documentary programming. An active resentment for comedy is a plus.

Sounds like a job for Hilarious Horace master of wit and repartee.

This is a great development. Rte do serious and current affairs really well but have in recent years neglected their mandate to entertain. I reckon there’ll be a whole host of experienced commissioners and execs from the uk who’ll apply for this considering the state of British telly right now. The package would have to be right but it’s a huge opportunity for someone to come in and put a stamp on the place! Fair dues and best of luck to them!

I think I’d be great at writing comedy

In fact I think they should pay me twice in case the first wage doesn’t go into my account

    9. Ah I thought RTE upper management had a lot of comedians in there
