Qualche tempo fa, abbiamo parcheggiato in Austria e non sapevamo che dovevamo pagare (non c’era barriera). Ora stiamo (giustamente) ricevendo una multa di parcheggio da un’agenzia di raccolta in Germania.
Non ho problemi a pagare questa multa, ma qualcuno sa come un’agenzia di raccolta tedesca come società commerciale può semplicemente accedere ai dati personali (nome + indirizzo) in base a una targa?
Il nostro governo lo consente solo o lo fa attraverso metodi ombreggiati?

I would assume that it’s part of EU cooperation on traffic enforcement. EU countries have bilateral agreements that allow cross-border access to vehicle registration data for certain purposes like traffic violations or unpaid parking.
The collection agency („Inkasso“) likely works in partnership with / is hired by Austrian authorities to deal with anything that goes beyond normal national Austrian traffic fines.
As long as the letter includes proper documentation and references the original parking issue, I’d assume it’s legitimate.
