Slave labor; hopefully, the person who did this is watched regularly.

A lad in my local shop is there about 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and when I was on a night out went to a chipper on Camden street where he was we serving me…… Indian owned business the both of them – I’d say this is a lot more common than we may think

So it appears that the only drawback to having a system of slave labour is that one day you might have to pay the person what they are owed? Can see why someone might take that gamble.

The MRCI are spot on, there needs to be further punishment on top of the financial one. Maybe ban the person from operating or being involved in a business in Ireland for a set period of time?

It’s great that more people in these situations are getting the assistance they need but more needs to be done to punish the people exploiting them.

We need far heavier legislation — getting unpaid wages compensated is a start — it’s denial of basic human rights and very serious exploitation. It should be punished in criminal law, not just though an administrative court as a commercial dispute.

      Chancers gonna chance.

Has he not thought that perhaps making someone work 115 hours is a bit too much?

Most of us are not even awake for 115 hours a week. Let alone working 115 hours a week. If he was working that much, it’s crazy

That’s slave labor. Absolutely shocking in this day and age.

I don’t think I knew there *were* 115 hours to work in a week.
