      As a Finnish person, I am sincerely welcoming Iceland to join the EU.

      It’s lower than in 2022 when it was 47% according to the diagram. It would have been more interesting if it had increased from 44% to 47%.

      Weird way to say “56% of Icelanders not interested in EU.” Respect democracy, in this case they don’t want EU.

      To clarify, 44% are for joining, 36% are against, and 20% are neutral

      I have a feeling a lot of businesses in Iceland would not be in favour of it because of the natural monopoly that Iceland has.

      Why join. A nato member country has attacked and their president has openly stated a trade war to eventually take over a country (Canada). An attack on one is an attack on all. Hasn’t happened. Trump and his supporters should be sanctioned just like Russia.

      Just like 2008? When shit hits the fan, Iceland flirts with joining. When shit cooled down, they back out.

      Funny that joining becomes a topic again as the island is set to have much larger vulcanic activity in the next few years again.

      We need Iceland for national EU security. The Viking tribes have long neglected Iceland and now China is coming. We cannot risk it.

      Honestly as someone who loves the EU I don’t want any country who doesn’t strongly want to join. Iceland can stay out of the EU if that’s what they want. Seems like a massive own goal from them but we’re not imperialists here.

      EU would be doing a lot better in these polls if they got rid of or reformed the common fisheries policy

      Maybe there should be some reform to the fishing laws under the EU to make Iceland and Greenland more willing to join the European union. Hell maybe even the UK eventually

      That is surprisingly low support for the eu. Is there a reason why they don’t like/trust the EU.
