I remember that there was a joke going around a long time ago that Charleroi was Karelskoning in Dutch.
From Charles + Roi = Karel + Koning
In my experience, Brussels is spelled differently in any language that you check.
Just a few that I know of: Brwsel, Buruseli, Bryssel, Brysseli, Brusela, …
There might be some exotic languages which use the same spelling, but I haven’t found them yet.
The etymology for Brussels is always an interesting one. Bruocsella –> Broekzele –> Bruxelles –> Brussel(s)
