” probation report stated Cuffe, who had no prior convictions, was at low risk of offending, and he brought €7,000 compensation for the victim.”

If you repeatedly stab a friend of 5 years, over something as stupid as a video game… Are you really at low risk of offending?

What if something actually stressful happens to him? Like someone blocking the aisle in Lidl, or getting the last 99 ahead of him on a sunny day?

49? Bit old to still be gaming.

edit- jesus why are gamers so tetchy all the time?

2 fuckin knobheads. Grown men arguing on a PlayStation and one drives to the others house? Kids wouldn’t go on like that.

Gamers can’t be trusted, that clown looks too old to be playing games anyway.

      > A medical report stated the victim was expected to make a full recovery and would have scarring and lost his belly button.

      Holy shit!

      > The judge highlighted this as an example where the community service limit should be raised to 600 hours, and he had written to ministers suggesting the increase to help rehabilitation in some cases.

This is the tree we should be barking up with Nolan’s perceived light sentencing.

    6. I mean the guy who got stabbed put someone else into a headlock in their own house, how doesn’t this stabbing fall under the castle doctrine?

In fairness battlefield is the type of game that would drive you to stab someone, the fifth iteration is particularly annoying!

He would have better off if he just observed the online customs of insulting your opponents mother in the gaming lobby!

What does and does not land you in jail in Ireland just puzzling.

    9. the title in the URL is “playstation-stabbing” – I guess a run of the mill stabbing doesn’t warrant an article, gotta demonise gaming/playstation for that bit of extra spice – even though gaming has nothing to do with the motive

“PlayStation” being used is such gutter click bait (and the Indo were worse using it in the title). If they had argument over the phone, they’d hardly be listing the phone model and operating system.

This is kind of insane, no?

Sets a terrible precedent for self-defence in one’s own home. The guy who got stabbed drove over to his ‘friend’s house after threatening him, proceeded to pretty much break in and then put him in a headlock. Then the guy who owns the house stabs the perpetrator for his own self-defence and then gets punished by the court?

      Fuck that.

Is on long term disability but wins a knife fight.

      Hmmm!

Me thinks he could work a desk job no bother

Imagine losing a friend and nearly your mates life because your raged over a game of Battlefield V and it wasn’t even something that happened in game it was over the amount of COVID fatalities. Absolute buffoon. How he got away with prison time is bizarre

So no one will talk about him getting deported?
      Did he not stab someone?

      I can’t see the intelligent #IrelandIsFull crowd here 🧐
