China is primarily interested in expanding trade interests among trump trade threats, no reason for them to antagonize the entire western world by sending troops
A few mercenaries isn’t exactly proof of official support. russia and their foreign recruiters ‘tricking’ (lol) foreigners to sign up has been all over the news the last few years.
The bigger tell is when the Internet is absolutely covered in footage of russian combatants getting blown to smitherines riding fleets of your shitty golf carts, and bombs dropping on innocent civilians being packed full of your components.
This war has seen a huge use of ‘dual-use’ and civillian equipment which is impossible to fully prevent them getting their hands on, but when you outright refuse to place sanctions (to make them harder to obtain) on the aggressor, and insist on deepening economic ties then the only rational conclusion is that you are in fact supporting them, even if it’s not outright stated ‘officially’.
There is no ‘not taking sides’ in a conflict like this, it isn’t grey, it’s black and white – there is a very obvious right and wrong side to this conflict and by engaging with the wrongdoing party you make your allegiance obvious to the world. No amount of tantrum throwing will protect you from this fact.

See, this issue is confusing to me. I’m in Kyiv right now and I see Chinese men all over the place. I know they are Chinese because I used to live in China and can speak/recognize mandarin when I hear it. Are they foreign workers or on vacation? I went to three different malls today looking for a place to scan documents (24print is where it’s at) and seen Chinese dudes at all three malls shopping. Usually in pairs. I assume Ukraine is watching out for Chinese spys… maybe I’m being a racist ass? Idk… but it’s strange given the news that Chinese soldiers are now in the fight.
