Is there any reason not to apply for it? If you haven’t bought your own house during the decade or longer wait you’ll probably have below market rents later in life.
That’s what i did unfortunately.
Comparing prices i could only afford 1 bed appartment in the city center, getting mortgage for 30 years for that, without car parking, worrying that my car is gonna be damaged overnight on the street.
Also problem with apartments would be maintenance fee which is 1200-2000€ per year on top of mortgage + bills on one person it comes out to be more expensive than renting a room.
Hopefully i will be able to get my own place thanks to county council
Don’t you need to apply if you get HAP?
Getting the deposit together isn’t a huge problem for most. It’s how impossible the banks make mortgage processes and the ever rising cost of houses despite wages not following suit.
It’s a landlord government, of course they are trailing as many as possible as tenants.
