[James Browne](https://archive.ph/o/u49C5/https://www.thetimes.com/world/ireland-world/article/housings-new-broom-needs-sweeping-reform-f077mbk9n), the minister for housing, said that the “increase in volume and pace of international protection is a significant driver in social housing demand and local authority homeless accommodation”.

‘Ministers were told that 25 per cent of the households on social housing waiting lists are non-Irish’.

Why am I paying crazy high tax for this?

They know this of course, why are they not doing anything about it?

Glad to see the government actually seem to address these issues, if they kept pretending it’s not an issue then we would have a large far right party in the future with disgusting politics.

They also need to address Indian Tech workers buying up all the new builds – you should not be allowed buy residential property in Ireland unless you’re an EU citizen.

They can start with scrapping the expat tax arrangement (SARP) they get and level the playing field.

They need to link inwards migration numbers to house building, otherwise they’re consciously fucking over the young generations

To get rent allowance, one has apply for Social Housing first.

New 3-bed in my area is going for over 600k. It’s the case now that even couples earning far above the average salary cannot afford property. Single people are absolutely fucked.

Was racist to say this 6 months ago. As always, the first to feel the impact of this is always the socio-economic disadvantaged areas.

Next comes the middle class impacted (what’s left of it), and that is what you’re starting to see now.

Never has been racist to talk about sustainable immigration and asylum applicants. But then again, both extreme “sides” have never really been interested in a mature reality-based conversation on the topic anyway

    7. They knew this. They had the opportunity to opt out of the pact but decided they wanted to be good little boys and girls.

Everyone complains about this on this sub and in real life yet the government is consistently voted back in. So either people actually support this or there’s a serious disconnect when it comes to voting behavior
