I genuinely am glad we didn’t get it. The white water rafting idea wasn’t great. The public pool idea is way better.

I heard they’re filming the next Mad Max there.
There used to be a series of fountains there, was relatively pleasant. It’s been drained for years because the local yup bros were using it as a diving platform / toilet.

I never realised how big the IFSC was, what an eyesore. Really distracts from the skyline

Just make it a public square
I wish they’d just put something in it. A few feet of water, a public pool, a park, Minigolf, astro pitch, some tennis courts, anything. Even some sort of multicoloured gravel art Mandala installation.

I live in the area, I think it was a great idea and really would’ve added something unique to the area.
Ideal spot for a few 5/7 a side pitches for people to use after work/local teams can train on in winter.

Use the location to breed rats. The state could then sell the fur, claw and milk abroad and invest the profits in infrastructure projects.

I’m of the opinion and always was of the opinion that the outrage over the white water rafting was ridiculous. You guys absolutely overreacted to hysterical levels over the idea of getting something actually nice in the IFSC area that people could use.
Funny, I live locally and always assumed it had been drained to deliberately prompt this type of response because it was pretty pleasant before that tbh. I really do hope DCC listen to the community group pushing the Lido project.
