If China can accept our heartfelt and honest criticism of human rights there, if they can dial down the Taiwan annexation rhetoric and extend the Hong Kong SAR into perpetuity, there is no reason why there couldn’t be a mutually beneficial fair deal. China might think that a very high price, but those would actually be in China’s own national self interest. They’re kicking America’s ass by not being monumentally stupid. If they can be more strategic there’s no reason why they can’t supplanted the USA. Particularly as Dementia Donny is running America into the ground along with his band of Christofascists.
