Zelenskyy just flushed Trump out. The offer to buy $50Bil worth of weapons from the US was a test, if Trump agreed then US manufacturers get a bonus Ukraine gets weapons and Russia gets a kicking. The US would be officially and openly backing Ukraine to win.

Trump is holding the US captive because of his distain for Zelensky. He hates him, and is holding a grudge for not agreeing to investigate Biden. No matter how many people die from Russian terrorism.
