Witkoff can fuckoff.
He can bend the kneee to Russia all he wants. Russia isn’t capable of taking the territory and Ukraine isn’t giving it up.
This is what so many appeasers and arrogantly self-described “pragmatic” Westerners keep on dismissing when observing that the Russians get to apply the cynical idea of “possession being nine-tenths of the law”, thus highlighting how “unrealistic” the Ukrainians truly are when it comes to their *own* homeland.
Occupied Ukraine is more than just inanimate soil, trees, rivers, hills and base metals. There are at least a few million Ukrainians there who’ve been born and raised on that land *long* before any of the “poor”, “oppressed” Russian ~~citizens~~ **trespassers, colonists, and intruders** unilaterally imposed themselves on that Ukrainian land.
By letting the Russians *again* get away with literal murder and theft (see how Minsk I and II cemented the Russians’ re-annexation of Crimea and their unilateral carve-outs for the Luhansk and ~~Donbass~~ Dumbаѕѕ People’s Republics), appeasers and so-called “pragmatists” are signaling that they’re A-OK with the indefinite occupation of millions of longtime native Ukrainians by a horde of viciously insecure outsiders who’ve grown up squatting on a “homeland” that hogs 11 time zones from the Baltic to the Pacific.
Not to worry, as a European I’m currently in negotiations directly with Russia about which US states that can be annexed by them. After the deal I am sure the war will end. You guys can thank me later.
