Potrebbe essere pericoloso essere il nemico americano, ma essere l’amico dell’America è fatale. Penso che il Canada e l’UE stiano finalmente imparando quella lezione nel modo più duro.

    1. That quote is taken out of context.

And stop taking Kissingers words as gospel.

Much like the Roman Empire pioneered, then the British Empire taught us, proxies & allies are best to bear the burden of your aims.

America’s innovation is that it leaves even its allies destroyed, whether achieving the aim or the inevitable growing weary of the endeavor.

So we shall leave the land a destroyed desert not fit for human occupation, then call it “peace…”

the relationship worked well over 80 years. Until isolationist came in and destroyed it

This rings so true , Canada was well on its way to slowly being economically annexed well before Trump took office

Trump made a fatal error in this, and i very much veiw it similar to Putin invasion of Ukraine.

He had a very distorted perspective based on baised media, echo chamber, and a lack of any peers to challenge his perspective. This is extremely evident if you listen to some of Americas right-wing media, personalities, and influencers.

    5. Enjoy circlejerking guys, who cares the quote is not complete and out of context.

Replace America with Trump, because Agent Orange is dangerous for the average American.

Iran saw it happening to Israel and itself in the 70’s…the western takeover. That’s when “death to America” became a thing. I mean they were right.

A blessing in disguise could be the movement coming out from this. If Europe really wakes this time.

America has no friends, only interests. The EU must become the leader of the free and democratic world.

I’m not a fan of posts like these because it could be a russian trolls attempt to spread anti-US sentiment between Europe and the US. Memefying that attitude normalizes it.

It’s one thing to promote boycotting certain US things, they have to be made to see reason somehow. It’s another thing to just spread a sentiment that says “boo the US can never be trusted again and all of our relations have to be severed instantly.”

While we have to be careful, things are not that far gone yet. There is still hope and recovery is possible.

Europe has enough wisdom of its own. We dont need to quote such questionable characters.

this is especially true now that we are led by a known russian asset.

They just took advantage when Europe was blown to shit. However, they helped us to rebuild. Americans may have grace but their government is blood thirsty. I hate waiting on a 50/50 to determine international policy every five years.

I’ve been reading Kissinger quotes while playing Tropico today, alongside Putin, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, etc.

We’ve generally seen the nice side of the US for the last 80 years in Europe. I read some of Chomsky’s book “Who Rules The World” and I had to stop because it made me feel physically sick. I really hope relations don’t deteriorate to the bad side of the US. Saying that, Europe is also capable of utter barbarism too.
