Just saw this posted on Instagram and made the mistake of looking at the comments. It’s like the absolute melts are just ready and waiting to decry anything they disagree with as government sponsored and “woke”.
I’d love to think it’s all bots, but it seems that despite the far right being an absolute shambles, there’s a growing number drinking the Kool Aid.
Edit: Forgot the word all. There clearly are bots involved. I guess my point was that I was disappointed to see what seem to be real people being dragged in too.

Yet another far right split, how shocking. At this rate the number of far right parties will eclipse the number of far right supporters which will really make these lads struggle to figure out how many of them there are as they only have so many fingers.

Goes to show that there’s little difference between far right and far left. There’s always a split happening. Like the famous People’s Front of Judea and Judean Peoples Front. I suppose we should be grateful for the fact that in Ireland these people are still very much on the margins. There’s enough problems for our more serious politicians, in Gov and opposition, to be dealing with.

Yes, it’s a complete shit show now…. But so was the US right till Trump. The issues that draw the public further towards right wing nationalism are not going away.
It all feels like the Weimar Republic about now, bunch of left wing idealogues and right-wing chroney capitalists making the lives of average people worse while tensions build.

**An Irish Senator has hit out at the “worn to death catch-all phrase” of far-right, saying that the phrase is simply a label to “discredit” and “silence” opposing views.**
The comments were made by Senator Sharon Keogan this week during a debate on the order of business. The Senator said that labels were “important,” and that until relatively recently society agreed that “swathes of people could not be tarred with the same brush.”
Far-right needs a considerable ultra-religious and economically struggling people.
I struggle to understand the appeal of the far right in Ireland. Why would anyone want to go back to Magdalene Laundries and Industrial schools? The biggest argument against far right taking points is Irish history between 1923 and 2011.
I see the conversation on here is finally turning and no longer laughing off the threat, too late at this stage I would say.
Said it many times before (funny, it hasn’t been downvoted as much in the last year). The Brexit playbook is now being run in Ireland (has been for a few years now) and I’d say SF not getting into power will be looked back on as the turning point.
Much like the Tories, FFG will do absolutely anything to remain in power and blindly steer the country into far right nonsense. Don’t be surprised if we’re discussing leaving the EU in 4 years time.
The issue with the far right is that they’ve no good policies. They’re just anti establishment and anti others. They’ll inevitably fall apart as they’re not good at working together or coming to compromises. The only time they work is when they’re buying each other out.

Foreign investors don’t realise how shit Ireland used to be. The make wherever great again works in the US where the 50’s and early 60’s were all Happy Days and riches, or the UK when they had their empire or even Russia when they were (part of) a superpower and no-one messed with them.
Here it was priests, poverty, ass carts and emigration before the EEC. Not much to tempt voters with. All they have is the “immigrants bad” message.

I got stuck in a taxi this morning with a driver who kept going on, and on, and on about Conor McGregor, Tucker Carlson, Trump and immigration. Apparently they were going to *’investigate’* and *’oust*’ the Irish government … somewhat mad stuff!
I’m finding I’m getting occasional blasts of this kind of thing from time to time in Ireland – not very pleasant, but it’s there. I really wasn’t in the mood to have an argument this morning and was under a load of stress anyway, so just shut down the conversation.
He’s not far right himself I’m sure,
but he sure is getting their attention and money after that video.
It’s also partially because a lot of Irish people are far too well educated to fall for far right propaganda. More than half of Irish people aged 25 to 66 are college educated which is significantly bigger than most European countries. Sometimes people argue that they can’t see the benefits, but honestly the biggest benefit of a college educated population is a very very accurate bullshit detector as this century is proving.
IMO He wants to be president only because of the “fame”/relevance and perceived power and notoriety that would come with it.
He got into the fight business for those reasons plus to make money and he did a great job of all of them in that regard.
Now that’s over and the fame and notoriety have gone(he’s mostly known for rape and pissed up internet rants now) and money isn’t a worry that’s what he’s craving.

This flute thinks he has a following in Ireland. Sadly there is a cohort of Neanderthals that think his brain is more than the veg soup of the day it actually is.
How wrong could they be. When he makes his detours into this country it’s usually to attend a rape or assault trial.

I hope he pours millions into a presidential campaign because I’m confident he hasn’t a chance. We are better than this surely!

Then you’ll have the bridge coming for a rent a cause movement (because ignoring them is not enough) and we’ll be scratching our heads in 5 years wondering where all these cunts came from.
