Erdogan sostiene che la corruzione nei “comuni adornati con stracci LGBT”, reiffirms “Family Institution” è minacciata

President and AKP Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the 5th Ordinary General Assembly of the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) held at the Atatürk Cultural Center. In his speech, Erdoğan targeted LGBTQ+ persons:

>Notice how the opposition advocates for the gender-neutralization policies that even the West is now trying to escape. While they can’t even pay the salaries of municipal employees, they are shamelessly funneling public resources into perverse movements. We are all watching in shock the corruption taking place in municipalities adorned with LGBT rags.
Of course, this issue is not just about the betrayal of the opposition; we are also facing the negative influence of the lifestyle promoted by neoliberal culture. Like in the rest of the world, the family institution, the foundation of society, is under threat in our country as well. We are living through a period in which the concepts of family, starting a family, and having children are more undermined than ever before.

Erdoğan also criticized the Istanbul Convention, saying “Laws save lives, not conventions”:

>Fighting violence against women and children and strengthening the institution of family remain key elements of our policies.
Today, I reaffirm the importance we place on the strict implementation of Law No. 6284, which was enacted during our governments.
Laws save lives, not conventions.
With this understanding, we will continue our resolute stance on this matter.

Too many old people are in power.

And that’s another proof why Erdogan is NOT an ally of Europe or even the EU. He dislikes when people can express themselves and have different lives than he wants them

Erdogan went too far by jailing his political opponents, hopefully he’s looking for a new job or in a jail cell soon.

It is hard to do good things for people with aspirations of a better life. So when you fail at that and have no governing philosophy and a shit economy with runaway inflation you need a boogeyman. And dumb people and religious fruitcakes believe it.
