What parent accepts that their 18 – and 19-old daughters should travel by themselves in the US. Perhaps they have no fathers?
even before the weird stuff happening nowadays, this would have likely gotten you sent back at the border
in 2017 i got questioned for an hour because they couldn’t reach my friend that i was coming to visit & was going to be staying at
To be honest, “German” and “loosely planned” in the same sentence is highly suspicious even to me.
First off, this is a NYPost, which is a known shit stirrer.
Secondly, this would also get you sent back in Germany/EU as well. You can’t just show up to a country with no accommodation and expect to get past the border entry.
Lastly, this has been the norm at the US border for global entry for a number of years and is not something recent. You have always needed to say your reason for staying, what you’re doing, where you’re staying, and what date you will return to your home country.
With that being said, if they were truly treated this poorly, that’s new and not okay.
