    1. Mainly known for it’s large harbor and paper industry. Most stereotypes would involve ships and sailors and related things. News stories about the large amounts of detected meth in Kotka wastewater didn’t really seem to have a particular reason for it. Maybe a lot of drugs flow through the large harbor in to the country.

Kotkan meripäivät is the third largest festival in Finland and source of many memes such as the one already posted here.

If I remember correctly there is a small Aquarium there, but nothing comparable to SeaLife in Helsinki 🤔

Well it’s not in Czech, and this map and post are both stupid af.

    4. Kotka has one very bad district called Karhuvuori which causes all negative statistics attached to Kotka. It has a lot of 60’s apartment buildings which are dirt cheap to rent. I remember reading from somewhere that by moving there you can invest the rent savings into drugs and also that there are a lot of like-minded people with whom you can party with or buy drugs from.

Came from Kotka about 3 hours ago. Kotkan saari is mostly old people. Nice people. I know some stoners, but nothing that bad.

My grandfather made the small planets and maps in katariina.

Now Karhula’s where shit gets real. Lots of rude old people, drunkards and such. Otherwise a nice place to visit family. 10/10, would never live there.

Edit: Forgot to mention karhuvuori. Huge shithole. Probably the most welfare recievers in Finland, drug issues, A guy once chopped up his landlord.
