      The agency’s annual report said that Russia attempted to disrupt the 2024 European election by launching cyberattacks on websites belonging to Dutch political parties and public transport companies, aiming to make it harder for Dutch citizens to vote.

      “The MIVD does not see the Russian threat against Europe decreasing but increasing. Even after a possible end to the war with Ukraine,” MIVD Director and Vice Admiral Peter Reesink said in the report.

      “There are turbulent developments in international politics and in the alliance field … The speed with which this is happening and the potential effect on our security is unprecedented,” he added.

      The MIVD revealed several recent Russian operations in the Netherlands, including the first known cyber sabotage attack by a Russian hacker group targeting an unspecified Dutch public facility’s digital systems in 2024. According to the report, the impact of the attack was minimal and did not lead to any damage.

      Call me crazy, but we also need to wage hybrid war in Russia with the aim of destabilising it.

      we need to wage propaganda campaigns at home as they do with us.

      in the worst case scenario they could ban social networks altogether and damage their own internal propaganda and make it easier for us to spot theirs

      When Romania canceled its presidential elections due to Russian interference, all of Europe was shocked. However, Europe and global democracies are under unprecedented attack from the Russians. We should no longer be surprised if other elections in Europe are also canceled due to Russian meddling. We must not shy away from drastic measures.

      I swear to god cant we just send 1O taurus (or whatever they don’t want Ukraine to have) to Ukraine for every cyber attack this fuckers start on Europe? The kremlin crosses red lines on a daily basis without any consequences!

      Russia has been wanting to Tear the EU apart for more than a decade now, they back chauvinists, revisionists and any useful idiot that comes across their path.

      This is clearly seen in their backing of “Euroskeptic” politicians in Western Europe who proclaim that eastern EU members are Parasites to their finances, while it is exactly those eastern European Countries that Moscow wants to gain substantial Influence in again.

      They want europe to be at war with eachother while being the energy gas and energy to both sides.

      And trust me that theyre trying their hardest to get MAGA to split with Europe because its “too woke” in regards of LGBT/Human rights ,Food Safety/Environmental Standards anyways.

      Yet its the EU who needs to step up, because often they latch on to valid criticism / talking points.

      Europe needs to stop playing a defensive game.
